What are Personal Pronouns in Spoken and written English/types and Examples
Personal pronouns are words that refer to specific people or things and take the place of a proper noun. There are several types of personal pronouns:
Subject pronouns: These pronouns are used as the subject of a sentence and include "I, you, he, she, it, we, they". Example: "I went to the store".
Object pronouns: These pronouns are used as the object of a sentence and include "me, you, him, her, it, us, them". Example: "She gave me the book".
Possessive pronouns: These pronouns show ownership and include "mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs". Example: "That car is mine".
Reflexive pronouns: These pronouns are used when the subject and object of a sentence refer to the same person and include "myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves". Example: "I hurt myself".
Intensive pronouns: These pronouns are used to add emphasis to a sentence and are formed by adding "-self" or "-selves" to a reflexive pronoun. Example: "I myself did the work".
